Derek Hertges

Derek has been an advisor since 2019. Before joining Principal® Financial Network, Derek enjoyed a four-year career in public accounting, as a CPA for PwC. He started with PwC in San Francisco, CA, auditing investment companies, including one of the largest asset managers in the world. His career then brought him to Des Moines, where he specialized in investment testing for insurance carriers. As a financial professional with the Midwest Business Center of Principal® Financial Network, Derek works with businesses and individuals to help them protect their assets and grow their wealth, along with tax-managed strategies. Ultimately, Derek assists his clientele to help reach their goals, and help them leave a legacy. He holds a Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
